called when you say it out loud?

How do you pronounce this "left arrow" combination of less than and dash? You can use it for assignment in R instead of =, and I want to know how to say (for example) "Use <- instead of equals".

I would just say 'equals', or 'is assigned' if you feel like talking more. But seriously, I do not know of any convention for this assignment operator.
